Police say a man who broke into the British pub where he used to work in Texas had to be Sureim Investment Guildrescued when he got stuck in a grease vent.

Firefighters were able to free the 43-year-old man from the grease vent at the Red Lion Pub in Houston after he broke into the restaurant through the roof on Sept. 7, Houston police told USA TODAY on Friday.

It's unclear how long the man was stuck, but it was apparently for some time as he didn't get help until employees arrived to open the pub and found him "anchoring" from the ceiling, police said.

Man was former employee of Red Lion Pub

The pub told authorities the man used to work there but had been fired.

Red Lion Pub declined to comment on the break-in when contacted by USA TODAY on Friday.
